Docomo Pacific has appointed Takayuki Kageyama as chief technology officer.
He previously was executive assistant to the senior executive vice president at NTT Docomo, and formerly manager of the Network Department.
Kageyama joined NTT Docomo in 2005 in the Radio Access Network Development Department.
He holds a 2003 bachelors of science and a 2005 masters of science, both from Sophia University in Tokyo, and is a 2005 Sloan Fellow of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Kageyama has also served as a part-time lecturer on mobile communications and digital society.
The University of Guam has appointed Pamela A. Peralta as vice provost of Research and Sponsored Programs, where she will lead UOG’s research enterprise, grant activities, and sponsored projects.
Peralta has served as interim vice provost since November 2023 and as director of Grants and Contracts since 2020.
She holds a 1993 bachelor of arts in international relations from Mills College, a 1998 masters in business administration from the University of Phoenix Hawaii and a 2012 doctorate of education in organizational leadership from Argosy University Hawaii, as well as credentials in grants management and strategic management.
Peralta has additionally acted as principal investigator or co-principal investigator on multiple federal awards, including projects funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration, the National Science Foundation, and the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration.
Early appointments in her career in Guam included a member of the adjunct faculty at Guam Community College and at the Guam Urban Renewal Authority.
Thrive Media Group has appointed Henry “Hank” Rice as its director of business development.
Rice is also a realtor with the Property Shop and performs at The Magic of Anthony Reed Show in the Encore Theater at the Crowne Plaza.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Hawaii Manoa in drama and theater.
Among other positions, Rice formerly served as the sales and marketing director of Archway Inc.
Triple J Saipan Inc. announced the promotion of Carol Lucenara to the position of manager of Surfrider Resort Hotel.
She will continue to also manage Great Harvest Bread Co. Saipan while expanding her responsibilities to oversee operations at Surfrider Resort.
Lucenara has been with Triple J since 2004 and was also manager of Tony Roma’s in Saipan during her 21 years with the group.
McDonald’s of Guam and Saipan announced that Department Manager Aaron Palaming, manager of McDonald’s Yigo in Guam, where he has served for 20 years, and Angelica Darlucio, manager of McDonald’s in Middle Road in Saipan where she has served for 15 years, completed the General Manager Capstone Course at Hamburger University in Chicago.
The program is designed to strengthen management skills and enhance restaurant performance across the McDonald’s system. The pair were chosen in recognition of their leadership, consistent operational excellence and potential for continued growth. McDonald’s of Guam and Saipan has now sent a total of 13 individuals to Hamburger University.
