Winners announced in District Court writing and art contests

In the Spotlight

The District Court of Guam announced the winners of its writing and art contests held in celebration of Citizenship and Constitution Day. Winners of the 10 Question Quiz and Essay in the elementary and middle school category were Mariana Terlaje, Lighlah Young and Logan Schembar in first, second and third place, respectively; and in the high school category were Isaiah T.C. Mendiola, Carri Ann Cabral and Selencia Saladier in first, second and third place, respectively. 

First and second place winners in the Chamorro Preamble to the U.S. Constitution were Ewy Taitano and her grandchildren and William Pearson, respectively. Third place was awarded to a family: Anaia Malaca, Jourdan Cepeda, Reesha Cepeda, Philysha Salas and Jadynn Quan. 

Winners of coloring contest in the kids’ category were Cameron Jacob Reyes, Isaac Zeles, Haily Rosete and Mia Asombrado, in first, second, third and fourth place, respectively. Winners in the neni category of the coloring contest were Cameron Perez Catindig, Alice Burkart, Lucia Terlaje and Gabriella McDonald in first, second, third and fourth place, respectively.
